NEWS | Zomato is launching in Toronto: What it is & How to use it for the full Zomato Experience

There's a new foodie guide app coming to Toronto: Zomato! The name is definitely catchy but what makes Zomato different from the other apps we're already using, like Urbanspoon and Yelp? Zomato's guide focuses on providing users information on delivery, dining out, cafes & even nightlife in major cities world wide in India, New Zealand, Brazil, Portugal, Chile, United Kingdom... and many more. I think it's safe to say if you're traveling to those cities, you can count on Zomato for your gastronomic adventures.

Zomato Fun Facts:
 - First founded out of a living room in New Delhi on July 2008
- In 110 cities within 13 countries & counting
- Over 259,000 restaurants listed & growing every day
- approx. 750 people in 13 countries with 25 different nationalities
- 132.1 million foodies served since 2008

How to use Zomato:

It really isn't your typical food guide, it's must more interactive and personal (if you let it be). The app and website are both seamless and super user-friendly - not to mention beautiful!

Our personal favourite feature is the ability to discover restaurants based on how you're feeling or what you're looking for. For example, you can click on "Trending Now" for the popular list of restaurants:

or any other categories under Zomato's Collections:

We're super excited to announce that we're part of the Zomato Community so watch out for our reviews & activity by following us! We also will be organizing brunches, dinners & cocktail to meet some of you & feast together.

RECIPE | Alokozay Tea - Cinnamon tea infused panna cotta

Matcha tea has been a long time favourite when making any type of dessert and now more recently, it's expanded to other teas such as Chai or Early Grey. We decided to try making a panna cotta using cinnamon tea from  Alokozay Tea.    If you're looking to buy it in a store, try the international food section in Metro, Bulk Barn, Food Basics, or Adonis. If all else fails, do what we did and order it directly from their website. The website is extremely easy to navigate and you can get free shipping if you spend $39 or more.  Customer service was amazing and replied to my emails within the same day! Click here to buy the tea online.  Panna Cotta is a pretty straight forward dessert to make but it never fails to impress at dinner parties where you can serve them in individual ramekins. Ingredients - 2 Alokozay cinnamon tea bags - 3/4 cup half and half cream -1/2 cup 2% milk - 2 tbsp sugar - 1 tsp gelatin -fruits of your choice  Method: 1. Mix the gelatin with ...

REVIEW | Patois - Get a little taste of everything on the menu with The Whole Shebang!

I'm down to try any restaurant that allows you to order the entire menu and Patois' Jamaican Chinese fusion menu definitely sealed the deal. It's certainly nice to have a restaurant that's open on a Monday and takes reservation in the Dundas St. West neighbourhood. Being able to make reservations makes life a whole lot easier even though the restaurant wasn't packed on a Monday night at 6 pm. Their reservation system even emails you to remind you of your upcoming reservation but we had no problems remembering as Patois has been on our hit list for quite some time now.  There is an assortment of drinks and cocktails to choose from but I went with the classic Ting to bring me back to the feeling of being away on an island somewhere much hotter than Toronto. As advertised, you can order "The Whole Shebang" for $99.99, which includes the entire menu (half orders of the O.G Fried Chicken and Juicy Jerk Chicken)! I would definitely recommend getting The Whole...

REVIEW | Light Cafe

We find Baldwin Village to be a street in Toronto that is ever growing. You'll never know what to expect in terms of businesses that will pop up! Not to mention it's diverse food culture including gelato, ramen, Italian, Filipino food and so much more. It doesn't surprise us at all that Light Cafe decided to take residence on Baldwin.  I have traveled quite extensively through Asia and can say with confidence that Light Cafe looks exactly like a cafe you would find in Taiwan. Not only is it spacious inside, I love the minimalist decor inside which provides a calming atmosphere. I could see myself sitting at the cafe for hours (within reason haha) and getting some work done.  The first thing that we noticed and I'm sure many of you will as well - is the living wall. I don't think I've ever been to a restaurant where there was a living wall but I've always wanted one of my own. With the natural sunlight coming in with the wall, it's the perfect place to f...
