REVIEW | Chef`s plate - Restaurant quality dishes in your very own home!

Chef's Plate  is similar to Fresh Canteen (read our review here ) which lets busy business people enjoy their time to the maximum without having to sacrifice quality. We all know what its like to work 9-5, commute home only to be too tired to do anything... So what do we turn to? Fast foods and dishes that probably aren't all that healthy for us. Chef's Plate solves that dilemma by delivering fresh ingredients to your door to make dishes that are worth sitting down for.  The idea of it is pretty simple, check out their website every week for a variety of meals to choose from. You can check how long it takes to make each dish or what ingredients go along with it before making any hard commitments cause after all, not all weeks are created equal. Some weeks we might have more time than others to prep a meal.  You can either choose a 2 person plan or 4 person plan each week and each plate ends up to $10.95 each. That seems fair as fast food meals cost that much and goin...

REVIEW | Patria

Any news about brunch comes as extra exciting for the both of us. It's probably because everyone we try to have brunch, we search high and low for a place that can accommodate or even find that hidden gem that takes reservations. We could barely contain our excitement when we found out that  Patria  also serves brunch!  Nestled a few steps away from the busy and dynamic King St. W, neither of us have been to Patria for a meal and the only time we have tried it is at food festivals when they have the huge pan of paella cooking. They have a really cute patio section right in the front of the restaurant with long tables that would be perfect for a group gathering, birthday brunch etc. Don`t worry about the chillier days where you struggle to decide whether to sit inside or outside, their patios have heaters where you get the best of both worlds.  Find out what Patria has to offer for brunch!  Some of our favourites included the  Ensalada de alcachofas fritas c...

McDonalds - The Great Canadian Taste Adventure

As much as we love going to a fancy restaurant for a three course meal with things we don`t know how to pronounce, the guilty pleasure for both of us will always be McDonalds.  Everyone has their classic choices whether its a BigMac or a Filet-O-Fish but we were pretty pumped to try out some new options from the Great Canadian Taste Adventure.  There`s something comforting knowing that where ever you are in the world, you will more than likely stumble onto a Mcdonalds.  One fun aspect for me while I travel is going into a McDonalds  and finding all the different options. Not only are there new things to try this summer, you can enter into a contest to try and win a Great Canadian Adventure. There are definitely many places in Canada I would love to travel to but haven't had the opportunity. Visit the website here   for more info on how to win!  Some of the items have passed but there is still time to try other things!  The McLobster made with 100% Atla...

EVENT | Brunch In The City with Canola Eat Well at Windsor Arms Hotel

Both Clara and I are big fans of brunches and we're not ones to ever pass up on an opportunity to do so. A week ago, I received an invitation for a "Brunch In The City"at the Windsor Arms Hotel, hosted by Abbey Sharp and Chef Christine Tizzard, so of course I said yes!  I went with an empty stomach and curiosity about what I'll be learning about Canola Oil . The brunch was hosted inside the Living Room at the beautiful Windsor Arms Hotel (Yorkville).  I have been to the hotel a few times for afternoon tea , events as well as the launch of the Living Room couple of years ago (read about it here ) and it's a fabulous experience everytime. The space has kept its charm even since then! I arrived and was welcomed with a refreshing Fresita drink - it was definitely a "bubbly" start to my brunch!   Unlike other events I've been to, we split up in two groups to discuss with a canola farmer that came all the way from Alberta to brunch with us and the ladies f...
