REVIEW | Gladstone Hotel's Cafe

Queen street is one Toronto's streets that has so much to offer, not just for tourists but for locals as well. With charm, style, and plenty of shops and parks to take a stop by, you will find something new every time you take a walk through all the neighbourhoods branching off it.  Celebrating its 126th birthday, The Gladstone Hotel is definitely not a stranger to Torontonians as you have probably visited for food, drinks or even a staycation!  Last week, I stopped by for dinner at the hotel's cafe - for the first time! The area to the left of the lobby when you enter through the front doors, is called the Gladstone Hotel Cafe, not to be confused with the diner across the street, also named "Gladstone Cafe." The hotel is definitely a piece of Toronto's history and you'll see that in his characteristic brick walls, large windows and wall fixtures but you will also notice the influence of art and culture in this boutique hotel. REVIEW | XXI Chophouse at The Doctor's House

To be honest, when I first heard someone mention The Doctor's House in Kleinburg, I had no idea what they were talking about. Then someone mentioned a cute white building in a quaint neighbourhood and I became even more confused. It's a good thing we were invited to experience  XXI Chophouse  and I'll never look back.    After driving through some familiar territory... like where I had my high school prom (but no need to re-live that), we finally arrived at The Doctor's House,  which is far from what its name suggests. It's actually a first class event space located right in the heart of Kleinburg Village and as soon as we arrived, I could picture a beautiful wedding happening there.  Part of The Doctor's House  is the newly renovated XXI Chophouse,  which is chic, classy and sophisticated all rolled into one!  Among other food-loving bloggers, we tasted some of what XXI Chophouse has to offer and lets just say we were not disappointed!...

LAUNCH |Blinco's Crepes & Coffee

I'm a big fan of crepes, especially savoury crepes! When I heard about Blinco's Crepes & Coffee opening just a few blocks away from me, I couldn't wait to try it out.  Blinco's had its grand opening just yesterday so it's really new to the neighbourhood. If you're in Etobicoke like myself, this may become your new crepe spot. The interior is bright, clean and spacious with  one side of the restaurant offering seatings and another side for the kitchen where you can see your crepes being made from scratch! Blinco's is a semi-self-serve, meaning you order and pay at the register, find a table and the food will be brought to you. With savoury crepes at $7.99 (choose all the toppings you want) and decadent crepes at $6.99, the prices are very affordable. They also offer breakfast crepes ($4.99) and snack crepes ($3.49). We decided to order one from the savoury menu and one from the sweet menu:  The one with Tuna Melt Toppings: guacamole, corn, cucumber, tomat...

REVIEW | The Drake Hotel

Happy weekend! I hope everyone is enjoying the amazing weather in Toronto - it's about time, right? With weekends, always comes brunch dates with your S.O., friends, family, or a blind date (maybe?) and even thought I haven't been to this  spot in a while, I decide to write about it now since I just had a craving for their delicious chicken & waffle. I'm talking about The Drake Hotel . I'm sure many of you have been there for a staycation in the city, dinner, drinks, and my favourite, dancing but I would say enjoying a cup of coffee and a delicious brunch by their large, open windows would my kind of day at the Drake. I personally love to spend weekends getting that extra few hours of sleep in the mornings but if there's one thing that will get me up is a good brunch. I will never say no to brunch, especially if it's discovering a new spot in the city. However, I wouldn't mind going back to the Drake for this lovely spread I had a few months ago. Check o...

EVENT | Nota Bene Happy Hour

For all you fellow foodies that work downtown, you may or may not see me enjoying a glass of Cava and munching on some delicious bar snacks after work hours at Nota Bene Restaurant for the next month or so.  Why? Because they have 10 new menu items offer at $4 each, between 4PM and 7PM everyday.  I mean, if you go with a friend and order everything, it's $20 per person - how awesome is that? Cheers!    I must admit, I haven't never been to Nota Bene. I have noticed it long, long time ago and almost tried it out for  Summerlicious  last year, but the lunch plans fell through so I never got the chance. However, leave it to a deal like $4 menu items and a long day of work to get me there. I am really glad I went to try this place out because... 1.  Great ambiance  - not pin-drop quiet and not super loud so you can really enjoy the company your'e with over drinks and food. It's a simple ask, but sometimes it's hard to find... 2.  Great staff ...
