REVIEW | Sunday Brunch & Cocktails at FIGO

Lazy Sundays are one of my favourite things but if there's something I would get up & try to look decent for, it's brunch. Especially if the restaurant is as stylishly elegant as FIGO is.  This pretty spot is located in the heart of Toronto's entertainment district , so if you live in the area, I'm quite jealous! Chef Anna Chen serves up Italian spired dishes for brunch , lunch and dinner. Think pastas made from scratch, wood oven pizzas and house-made ricotta!  On my visit, I had a mix of items from lunch, brunch and dessert menus and I did fall in love with some: Zucchini Fritti, Burrata & Pancakes! The Zucchini Fritti reminded me of both Japanese vegetable tempuras and those veggie chips. It was super light, tasty and addictive. The Burrata - what can I say about that? REVIEW | Francobollo

We made our way to Francobollo Posto Italiano   towards the end of last year to satisfy our cravings for Italian food. If you guys remember, we went to  Terra   in November and loved everything from the decor, meal and right down to the service. We had just as high expectations for  Francobollo  being the newest addition from the  Substance Food Group.  How do we describe the interior of Francobollo other than elegant and sophisticated? As a smaller restaurant, it really made our dining experience more intimate and perfect for celebrating those special occasions. They also have a second floor that can accommodate larger parties and really gives the feeling of privacy. As much as we can continue to write about the interior, we were ultimately there for the food which was just as great. EVENT | Elle Cuisine's Holiday Party with Bourbon-infused Food & Bourbon Pairings

December is always a crazy month. Gift shopping, boxing day shopping, holiday parties, long work hours before taking some days off, the list goes on. Looking back at the month that always seems to fly by, one holiday party stands out: Elle Cuisine 's holiday party at Apt 200.  It could have been the bourbon pairings that I was introduced to and converted me to a bourbon/whiskey drinker; or the amazing 4-course dinner that  Elle Cuisine  put together unforgettable; or just such a fun atmosphere with great company that made this event unforgettable.  It was definitely the combination of all three factors. REVIEW | Feast ON 7-Course Dinner Experience at Spirit Tree Cidery

First off, let me just say that I love beef and cheese. When I heard about the  Feast ON  dinner featuring both, I couldn't say no. I invited my friend along for a mini road trip to Terra Cotta, just South West of Caledon for this 6-course dinner featuring cider pairings from Spirit Tree Cidery . For those of you that are not aware of what Feast ON is, it's an Ontario wide dining series created by the Ontario Culinary Tourism Alliance to showcase the unique taste that Ontario has to offer. Feast ON certified restaurants and chefs offer unique experiences that focus on local food and drinks. This Ontario Beef & Cheese Dinner featured produce from Heatherlea Farms of Caledon, known for their grass-fed and drug free meat, and Monteforte Dairy from Stratford.
