Who doesn't love desserts? We certainly do and that's why we were so excited to try out HoneyButter's   macarons!    HoneyButter is a private dessert company founded by Grace who offers a wide variety of desserts including cheesecakes, tarts, cupcakes cookies and of course macarons.  Anyone who likes to bake will tell you that baking is essentially a science. Proportions have to be exact or else the result turns out to be one of those "baking fails" that everyone laughs about. However, not all baking is created equally...cookies and breads tend to be on the easier side and then there are the macarons...in their perfect little shells just taunting you to attempt conquering them. Fast food is called fast food for a reason, it's in and out for those who are on the go or have no time. If you've ever met Monica and I, you'll know that we are not ones to turn down cake or any dessert for that matter. They're the perfect desserts for any occasion, and there's nothing more satisfying than that first cut into a cake. There's definitely an abundance of bakeries across Toronto, including one that we came across recently, called:  La Dulce Torta . La Dulce Torta is a bakery that offers delicious, homemade and affordable cakes within downtown Toronto and GTA. Let's be honest, cakes don't come cheap and and customizing is a whole new story. Luckily La Dulce Torta can cater to what you're looking for, including wedding cakes!  Their cakes are definitely on the affordable side and won't cost you an arm and leg. Although we're still a little confused about summer in Toronto this year, there are days where I would love for nothing but a nice cold drink on a patio and there are days/nights where I wish I could crank up the heat in my house. For those hot and sweaty days, there's really nothing like a cold drink or a cold dessert to cool you down - I'm talking about some Taiwanese crushed ice desserts and milk teas! Sweet O'Clock is like a mix of a sit down dessert space and take out. If you're looking for a quick drink, take out is probably your best bet but if you're looking for one of the desserts, we would recommend grabbing a table to sit down and enjoy the desserts as fresh as they can be. Can you believe that we've stepped into August, nearing the end of summer? We're obviously hoping that the hot weather will continue until at least October (please, please, please).  In the meantime, Clara and I have been indulging in ice cream, popsicles, frozen yogurt, parfaits - you name it - to keep cool.  From those, froyo is definitely the most fun to make, especially the ability to make your own creation with a variety of toppings & sauces.
